Sheepskins

Our sheepskins are 100% natural products and deserve the right care to maintain their beauty and softness. Because every skin is different, each type requires its own approach. That is why we are happy to share our care tips, so you can enjoy your purchase for as long as possible.

How do you clean your sheepskin?

Washing

  • Preferably use only dry foam that is suitable for wool.

  • Hand washing is possible, but only in cold water and with a mild, liquid detergent.

  • Gently shake the skin to remove excess water.

  • Always avoid machine washing as much as possible.

Drying

  • Never put it in the dryer!

  • Let the skin dry flat, not in direct sunlight or near a heat source such as a radiator.

  • Occasionally pull the leather taut while drying to prevent it from shrinking or becoming hard.

Colors

  • Always have dyed sheepskins professionally cleaned to prevent color loss.

Care

  • Regular combing keeps the skin fluffy, soft, and free of tangles.

  • Small bits of dirt? Beat the skin outside or gently dab clean with a damp cloth.

  • Gentle vacuuming can help remove dust and crumbs.

Specific care tips per type of skin

Health skins (short-haired, specially tanned)

  • Can be washed on a wool wash program.

  • Let the skin air dry, not in the sun or on a heat source.

  • Regularly stretch the leather while drying.

Cowhides

How do you care for your cowhide?

A cowhide brings warmth, character, and natural elegance to your interior. With the right care, your hide will stay beautiful for years. Below you will read how to care for it easily and correctly.

Cleaning & dust removal

Caring for a cowhide is surprisingly easy.

* Vacuuming is allowed! Use the lowest setting and always go in the direction of the hair.

* You can also gently beat the hide outside to remove dust and loose particles.

* Unlike sheepskins, a cowhide does not need to be brushed — less pressure on the hair is actually better.

Stains & spills

Accidents happen. No worries:

  • Blot spilled liquid immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.

  • Remove dried dirt with a slightly damp cloth, also with the hair.

  • Stubborn stain? Use a small amount of mild, natural cleaning agent (such as green soap).

  • Make sure the leather side does not get wet — this can dry out and become damaged.

  • Did the hide get wet anyway? Never let it dry on a heater or in direct sunlight.

Preventing dryness

A cowhide can, just like leather, dry out slightly.

  • Occasionally spray the hair very lightly with water using the mist setting of a plant sprayer.

  • Again, avoid getting the leather side wet.

  • With underfloor heating, you can moisten the hide a little more often.

Furniture marks

A mark from a chair or table in the hide? You can solve that easily:

  • Place a bag of ice cubes on the mark. When the ice has melted, carefully brush the area in the direction of the hair.

  • Or place a slightly damp cloth on the mark and iron over the cloth a few times on medium heat.

Travertine is formed by mineral-rich water deposits and develops into a naturally textured limestone with warm, earthy tones. The stone is often chosen for furniture and decorative elements, where the depth and organic variation of the surface play an important visual role.

Characteristics
Travertine has a solid but porous structure with a matte to lightly polished surface. Small cavities, subtle streaks, and color variations ranging from cream and beige to warm brown tones are inherent to the stone, giving it a tactile and distinctive appearance.

Maintenance
- Regularly remove dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- Carefully clean with a slightly damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner if necessary.
- Dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water stains.
- Avoid acidic substances and abrasive cleaning products that can damage the stone.
- Wipe up spilled liquids immediately to prevent stains.
- Store indoors in a dry place and limit prolonged exposure to moisture and direct sunlight.

Lava glass

Lava glass, also known as volcanic glass, is formed when molten lava cools rapidly, creating a smooth, glass-like material. It is used in decorative objects because of its rich color, natural depth, and distinctive surface texture.

Characteristics
Lava glass has a smooth, glossy surface with a sturdy but fragile structure. The color is inherent to the glass itself and ranges from deep, saturated shades to more translucent finishes, sometimes with subtle flow lines or variations that occur during cooling. These natural properties give each piece a refined yet expressive visual quality.

Care
- Clean carefully with water and a soft cloth to remove dust or residue.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots or a dull surface.
- Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh cleaning products.
- Handle with care, as the material can chip or break if dropped.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes, including use in the microwave.
- Dishware may only be used in the dishwasher on a low temperature setting.

Lava stone

Lava stone, also called volcanic stone, is a natural material formed from solidified lava.

Features
It is prized for its durability, unique texture and natural heat resistance. Lava rock is often used for countertops, flooring and decorative pieces because of its ability to withstand high temperatures and its porous yet sturdy surface.

Maintenance
Dust it regularly with a soft cloth or brush to remove dirt.
For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution, taking care to avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as these can damage the surface.
Although it is naturally heat resistant, it is best to avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on lava rock surfaces to preserve its appearance.

Marble

Marble is a natural stone valued for its elegance, unique veins and smooth surface.

Features
It has been used for centuries in everything from sculptures to architectural elements to countertops. While visually stunning, marble is a porous stone, making it somewhat susceptible to stains, scratches, and acids like citrus or vinegar.

Maintenance
Dust it regularly with a soft cloth or brush to remove dirt.
Harsh chemicals and abrasive materials should be avoided as they can etch or scratch the marble.

Sandstone

Sandstone is a natural sedimentary rock known for its warm, earthy tones and textured surface.

Features
While sandstone is often used in flooring, wall cladding, and outdoor landscaping for its durability and natural beauty, it is also popular for small sculptures and home decor. Sandstone is relatively porous, meaning it can absorb liquids and is prone to staining if not properly sealed.
Our handmade sandstone sculptures combine natural beauty with artisanal skills. Each piece is carefully shaped by hand, preserving the unique properties of the stone. No two sculptures are exactly the same.

Maintenance
Dust it regularly with a soft cloth or brush to remove dirt.
Avoid using water or harsh cleaning agents as sandstone is porous and can absorb moisture, leading to possible damage.

Concrete

Concrete is a composite material made of cement, sand, gravel, and water. It is one of the most widely used building materials in the world and is also becoming increasingly popular in interior design and decorative applications.

Features
Concrete offers a modern, industrial aesthetic with a smooth or rough surface, depending on the finish. It is extremely durable, strong, and can be made in a variety of colors and textures. Concrete is used for countertops, floors, decorative objects, and furniture.

Care
Dust it regularly with a soft cloth or brush to remove dirt.
For a deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the surface.
Concrete is porous and can absorb stains, so it is recommended to oil it regularly or seal it with a protective coating.
Avoid placing hot objects directly on concrete surfaces to prevent damage.
For outdoor use: Concrete is weather-resistant, but regular maintenance and resealing help extend its lifespan.
